City of Norwalk Local 830 Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 8:02 am. The fire was located at #8 Cindy Ln in a split-level ranch style home. Initial reports were for a fire in the dining room with everyone out of the building. Upon arrival, NFD Engine 4 encountered smoke coming from eaves. Engine 4 was able to force entry and make their way to the dining room area where they encountered high heat and heavy fire conditions. While Engine 4 was extinguishing the fire, primary and secondary searches were being conducted along with both horizontal and vertical ventilation. The fire was extinguished in 30 minutes by a 1st alarm assignment consisting of 3 Engine Companies, 2 Ladder Companies, 1 Rescue Company and the shift commander with a total of 26 Norwalk Professional Firefighters. There were no reports of any injuries to any occupants or firefighters. The residence is deemed unfit for occupancy. The Norwalk Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
