On June 1st, the City of Norwalk Fire Department responded to a reported structural fire on Huckleberry Drive South at 22:01hrs. Engines 1, 2, and 4, Truck 1, Rescue 2 and Car 2 responded on the assignment. (Truck 2 was operating at a Carbon Monoxide investigation on Byrd Rd at the time of the fire.)
Engine Co. 1 and Truck Co. 1 arrived to find fire showing from an attached garage with two vehicles inside.
Due to the quick response of Norwalk Professional Firefighters, the fire was extinguished in 30 minutes and contained to the garage area, which allowed the occupants to remain in their home. No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Division.
Engine Companies 3 and 5 relocated and covered the city during the fire along with Truck Co. 2 after clearing the call on Byrd Rd.
