The IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in Colorado Springs and the Memorial Ceremony in September honor IAFF members who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. It is also a space for the family and friends of our fallen members to remember their loved ones and celebrate their legacy.

This year, two of our own are being honored, NFD Firefighter Craig Saris, who passed away on February 6th, 2023, and Deputy Fire Marshal Luca Feola, who passed away on November 2nd 2023. Both succumbed to their battles with occupational cancer.

Attending this year’s ceremony will be the Feola and Saris families. NFD Local 830 represenitives will accompany the families and act as their honor guard and department escort throughout the weekend.

This sadly marks the 3rd Local 830 Norwalk Professional Firefighter to have their names added to the memorial in recent years after battles with occupational cancer. Just last year, NFD Firefighter Ralph Geter, was honored and added to the wall.
