Local 830 City of Norwalk Fire Department members responded to a house fire during the early morning hours of Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 2:32 AM.
The fire was located at 10 Center Ave. in a 2.5 story multi family dwelling. The initial call reported a fire in on the front porch.
Upon arrival, Truck Co. 1 and Engine Co. 1 encountered fire on the front porch extending up the front of the house on the 1st floor. The fire was extinguished in 20 minutes by a 1st alarm assignment consisting of 3 Engines, 2 Trucks, and 1 Rescue; totaling 25 Norwalk Professional Firefighters.
The fire was contained to the front porch and the 1st floor exterior. Minor smoke and heat damage was sustained on the 1st floor of the house. Two occupants were home at the time of the fire and exited the home prior to fire department arrival.
There were no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians. The Norwalk Fire Marshals Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
