On Monday, March 3rd at 14:10hrs. City of Norwalk Professional Firefighters were dispatched to a reported house fire in the Broad River section of the City.
Engine Co. 1 & Truck Co. 1 located less than a mile away, quickly arrived on scene at # 7 Bartlett Manor to find a heavy smoke condition coming from the rear of the 1.5 story cape cod style dwelling. As Engine 1 stretched a hoseline and Truck 1 began searches of the structure. NFD firefighters encountered a large volume of fire from home furnishings on the rear patio with the rear of the structure starting to become involved.
The fire was extinguished in under 10 minutes by a first alarm assignment consisting of 3 Engine Companies, 2 Ladder Companies, the Rescue Company, and the Deputy Chief (Shift Commander) with a total of 26 NFD Local 830 firefighters.
There were no reported injuries. The Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Division is investigating the cause of the fire. During this incident Engine Co. 3 & Engine Co. 5 covered the rest of the City with 8 NFD Firefighters.
